How do I arrange a direct debit?
Direct debits can be arranged to automate the payment of your bill from either your bank account or an eligible credit card*. This can be arranged through our website or via our app by following the steps below:
To arrange or change a direct debit through our website, simply follow the steps below:
- Login to your My Account
- Select Billing and Payments under Account Settings in the left-hand menu
- Select either Manage to set up a new direct debit, or Change to adjust an existing direct debit
- Select either Bank Account or Credit Card* depending on how you would like your direct debit to be charged
- Choose which of your Discover Energy accounts you would like to be paid via direct debit
- Fill in the required fields with your bank account or credit card details as appropriate
- Click Save
To arrange or change a direct debit through our app, simply follow these steps:
- Login to the app on your smart device
- Select Me from the tabs at the bottom of the page
- Select Direct Debit, then select either Open Direct Debit or Change as appropriate
- Select either Bank Account or Credit Card* depending on how you would like your direct debit to be charged
- Choose which of your Discover Energy accounts you would like to be paid via direct debit
- Fill in the required fields with your bank account or credit card details as appropriate
- Click Save
Please note that your nominated account must support direct debiting. Please also ensure that your account has sufficient funds at the time of direct debiting as having insufficient funds may incur further fees.
* A 1% surcharge will apply if you pay by credit or debit card; please note we only accept Visa and Mastercard credit and debit cards at this time
