What is the Virtual Power Plant (VPP) Program?

Virtual Power Plants aggregate small-scale energy generation sources into a larger virtual network for the purpose of power production. They can be used to support the grid when demand for electricity is too low or high and help facilitate the integration of renewables as we begin to modernise our electricity networks.

Our Virtual Power Plant (VPP) Program consists of several state-wide networks of household solar and storage systems that each act as a generator (or Power Plant). Each VPP is managed through our system which connects to the various online Inverter Clouds of our supported inverter brands to obtain relevant solar system data. This connection also allows us to send a signal to your inverter to charge or discharge your battery to the grid.
