Bushfire Safety Information for Gas

If a bushfire is threatening your home, you should turn your gas supply off whether you are staying at the property or not.  If the bushfire threat is imminent, only turn of your gas supply if it is safe for you to do so.

See this article for instructions on how to turn your gas supply on off.  Remember to keep the area surrounding the gas meter free of obstructions and clear of combustible materials.

After a bushfire

If your home has been affected by a bushfire, don’t turn on the gas supply until a licensed gas fitter has tested your gas supply and confirmed there are no gas leaks or damage to your gas outlet, piping or gas appliances.
